(toeic 公式問題集 part3 の56～58より) down には副詞,名詞，動詞の用法があるようです， halfway は副詞と形容詞の用法があるようです。 まず考えたのが，halfway+downで形容詞句を作って the blockを修飾しているのではないかという事でした。 一般的に形容詞句はは「前置詞＋(代)名詞」や不定詞、現在分詞、過去分詞を中心としたものが多く含まれるとのことで，上のような副詞+副詞の形は違和感がありやはりちがうのではないかと考えました。 どなたか文法に詳しいかたいらっしゃいましたら，御説明頂けると幸いです。(続きを読む)
